Dana White reacts to Usman Nurmagomedov expressing his desire to join the UFC
Reigning Bellator lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov recently shared his thoughts on joining the UFC when his contract with Bellator ends. He mentioned that he would consider making the move after his close friend and current UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev retires.
Usman, who's the cousin of UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov, boasts an impressive MMA record of 18-0-1NC. During the post-event presser for Power Slap 9, UFC CEO Dana White was informed of Usman’s desire to join his promotion. Reacting to this, White claimed that all big MMA fighters want to join the UFC except Francis Ngannou:
“All of their good people wanna be over here anyway, so I would imagine that eventually he’ll be here... Nobody wants to fight in the PFL – except for Francis [Ngannou].”
